GRHS Marching Band Summer Letter 2023
July 10th, 2023
GRHS Band 2023-2024
July 10th, 2023
I hope this letter finds you well and you are enjoying your summer vacation. It’s hard to believe we only have a few weeks until the school year begins again! The purpose of this letter is to let you know about our summer marching band schedule, and a few other things that will help us get off to a good start this year. I am really excited for this year and getting to see what we all will accomplish!
First, our summer marching band camp will take place August 3rd, 4th, and 7th, 8th and 9th at Green River High School. We will be having three sessions per day to work on our marching fundamentals and through our halftime show music. If students need to check out instruments, please arrive at GRHS at 8AM on August 3rd, 2023. The daily schedule for the week of bandcamp is listed on the backside of this letter in addition to the 2023 Marching Calendar. Please see the end of the letter for a list of necessities for band camp. Additionally, Students will need to have a completed physical exam to participate in the marching band. The SWCSD#2 Physical Form is included in this letter. Please bring this on the first day of band camp. This physical form will be applicable for any sports students are participating in as well throughout the school year.
We have a band website! The address is: GRHSBands.com. This website will serve as one of the main sources of communication and information this year. On the website, you will find an updated calendar section with events for every band throughout the year. Additionally, this is where performances will be live streamed. Lastly, there is a new section titled, “Music”. This is where students will be able to find virtual copies of their marching band show music to practice and look at before we start the year. (Students, if you are unsure to what part you might be playing in the upcoming season, please send me an email and I will get the specifics to you) To access this page, they must enter the password: GoWolves2023
Next, I need to let you know about our parents’ organization, the GRHS Band Boosters. This organization does a significant amount for the band from providing help during performances to overseeing our fundraising activities. They will be providing some snacks for the band during band camp this year, if you would be willing to help out or would like to be a part of this organization to help out the band in any way throughout the year please let me know!
Finally, if you have any questions please contact me at email@example.com or 307.872.8339, I will be in and out of my office pretty much every other day from now until camp starts and I will be checking my email and phone messages. If you leave a message I will get back to you. Thanks for your time and for your commitment to the GRHS instrumental music program and its success!
