GRHS JAZZ BANDS
Explore this truly American art form! We have Three levels of jazz bands at Green River High School: Jazz 1 and 2 Ensembles for musicians new to jazz, and Jazz 3 Ensemble for more advanced musicians.. Auditions are required for ALL potential jazz band musicians so that you can be placed in the right level. All three groups have the opportunity every year to perform at our very own jazz festival, Swingin' On The Green at Expedition Island in the Spring.
Wolves Jazz Band (Jazz 1)
Students will be introduced to and improve basic improvisational and music reading skills while learning to play a variety of musical styles. Improving skills and a commitment to the ensemble is a priority. Students will perform in several concerts throughout the year. Students who play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, piano, or drums are encouraged to audition. Attendance for all performances is required.​
Green River Big Band(Jazz 2)

Sweetwater Sound (Jazz 3)
Students will continue to improve improvisational and reading skills while learning to play a wide array of musical styles at an advanced level. Improving individual skills and a commitment to the ensemble is a priority. Students who play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, piano, or drums are encouraged to audition. Attendance for all performances is required.
